@brianschatz 2.julio.2019 Kids in cages. Tanks on the streets. Friendship with dictators. Fights with democracies. VIP access for donors at a July 4 event. Attacking the press. There is nothing patriotic about any of that. 7/2/19 @ 1:17 PM There is a problem when one makes a "flat" list like this. Which is most important to you? Personally, the attacks on the press are disturbing because they have a lasting effect. Fights with democracies also undermines them. I actually believe that leaders should sit down and talk... even if they are enemies (chummy is something else). The "kids in cages" is code for an awful situation we want to shout about but do nothing about. The answer here is families welcomed into temporary refugee camps/cities/shelters that are not military based. These people need stability and care. As for tanks... I don't like tanks and I think whining about the July 4th event sounds petty. BECAUSE... I don't live in a flat world and I can't be equally outraged about everything all the time. Maybe more writers should become involved in political issues because rational arguments and eloquence are sorely lacking. The comments were mostly just mud-slinging. 569 |
