Meditation on Light: To The Bab
Meditation on Light:
To The Bab
"I am the Mystic Fane which the Hand of Omnipotence hath reared. I am the Lamp which the Finger of God hath lit within its niche and caused to shine with deathless splendor. I am the Flame of that supernal Light that glowed upon Sinai in the gladsome Spot, and lay concealed in the midst of the Burning Bush."
His Holiness the Exalted One2,
was the lamp lit by the Holy Spirit,
the light illuminating the road to peace on Earth,
and the splendor of divine revelation
casting it brightness upon humanity.
The Bab
reflected the radiance
of the Unknowable Creator
upon the mirror of the human heart.
The Primal Point
was the effulgence
that raised the soul's
of those who believed
to life.
This is poem 48 of the 200 I am writing to celebrate the Bicentenary of the Birth of The Bab.
Footnotes 1Selections from the Writings of the Bab, 2. Excerpts from the Qayyúmu’l-Asmá’: "I am the Mystic Fane.." 2 This is the way 'Abdu'l-Baha referred to the Bab.
