A lonely day... the 31st.

The blog challenge only goes on for 30 days... but July has 31.

Can we call it August -1? Old Julius might be jealous.

Well, I keep writing flash fictions regardless of the results:

In western terms a "swell of a saddle" is known elsewhere as the pommel. This one is a bit risqué... my regular critique group here didn't even blink. But they did laugh. I used a lot of "st" words but no one noticed. And it has dialogue.

On the other hand, this one is introspective. Hiroki doesn't want to be left alone with his memories. Nagara-gawa is the clear water river that flows through Gifu (Japan) where fisherman use baskets of fire and cormorants to fish Ayu = a silvery fish similar to smelt. There is no dialogue.

Most every day is lonely here. I did get out to the Senior Center to see friends, and made it to critique group.

No sign of my glasses. I got on my hands and knees and searched. Yes, the place needs cleaning but I must pace myself or panic will set in. I leave in 11 days.
