Porthole

Winding down.

I'm winding down. Too much to do and too little time to do it. Blogging is a distraction but I've already stopped flash fiction and other writing although I do need to finish a poem or two.

I just don't have time... because I'm very low energy and some of what needs to be done either exhausts me physically or emotionally. I need to take lots of breaks to breathe or distract myself. That said, I took a pink bath with my maroon shirts last night and they are mostly dry now.

I didn't know about [reading] The Zoo Station... I tend to avoid anything that takes me on an emotional roller-coaster... and that might.

I was homeless and that would make an interesting memoir but it may seem to dark. I'd also name names. In some cases people need to be given a voice. I wrote about the insanity around me, the addictions, the deaths. It would be narration mixed with poetry. Much is still here in my first blog.

I am a budget hostel traveler. There are stories there as well! And thousands of photographs. I can only imagine what it would be like running a hostel (I've heard many an "interesting" story) and a cruise ship sounds like it would be a hotel (with the drama of a homeless shelter) ... just on the water. I'd read it!

As for celebs, there have always been those who were famous for being famous. Not my cup of tea. But money goes to money; beauty comes to beauty. At my age I don't have to worry about either.

Thanks for the clarification [re Mental Health challenge]. Me? I'm melting in the heat while trying to clean and get ready for my trip. The challenge isn't difficult, it's just my anxiety levels are rising and I've been using blogging as one of my distractions and... well, this will all end soon. I may not do much the rest of the month unless I get a breather. I'll be in Costa Rica 11-18, Norway 20-27+ and Europe until early October. We'll see how it goes.
