Zaynab - Heroine of The Fort of Ali-Mardan Khan:
To The Bab

Shouting “Ya Sahibu’z-Zaman!”1,
Zaynab--
dressed as a man--
accompanied her fellow Babis into battler.

Fighting along side the men,
she helped protect the inhabitants
of Fort of Ali-Mardan Khan for six months,
before being killed in battle.

In battle,
she exemplified the bravery
of the Babis
in their attempts to survive
the persecution
of the government and clergy.

In death,
she demonstrated the love
the Babis held
for the Bab.
