Midnight Prayers1

At midnight
my soul wakes me
to intone prayers
to the All-Glorious Lord.

At midnight
the world is silent,
and I can hear my intoned
prayers raise to the All-Glorious Lord.

          ...for fresh brewed coffee on this late autumn morning.

          ...for the apple juice I had with my breakfast.

          ...for the chicken soup I had for lunch.
