these words are photons
emanating from the poet's mind
reflecting off the reader's perceptions
and into the prism of their experience:

Wherever the reader is in space-time,
connotations lengthen a poem's wavelength
away from the poet:
What does the poem mean to the reader?

          ...for th e Wether's Original candy I had this afternoon.
          ...that my Bank of America checking account is not overdrawn today
          ...for the Snicker's bar I had for my bedtime snack last night.
          ...that I was able to pay the rent today.
          ...for fresh brewed hot coffee on this beautiful winter's day.
          ...that I have 169 points in my Survey Junkie account
          ...for the merit badges I received today.
