Precious things
I’m not a person who collects things or attaches myself to things come to that. I actually hate the idea of being responsible for any precious anything. I’d much rather have a memory of a person than visit a grave or shrine for example. My worst nightmare is my kids picking up my ashes after I’ve gone and then them angsting ( if such a verb exists) what to do with them. I’d hate to sit on a sideboard for years because someone couldn’t bear to part with them.

Having said that I do have a dinner set left to me by my mother. It’s expensive, too much so to actually use, gold and red chinaware called Royal Crown Derby. Those in the UK will know the brand. I feel responsible for it, scared of breaking or damaging and have already passed on that responsibility in my will to my eldest daughter.
