Walking Along the Edge1

I walk along the cliff of survival,
a hair's breath from tumbling into the abyss,
one misstep
and I fall into the darkness.

I cannot look into the chasm,
because I will lose my footing
and fall into the endless night
of financial ruin.

          ...for fresh brewed black coffee on this beautiful winter morning.

          ...for the breakfast pastries I have to go with my coffee.
          ...that I have $32.59 in my Inbox Dollars account.
          ...for the canned plums I had for breakfast.
          ...that I have 2,841,767 GPs in my Gift Points account.
          ...for the Arizona sweet ice tea I had for lunch.
