I have no idea!. I've heard several different version, sung by numerous vocal artist. I know several of the versions have been recorded by different artist over the years, so Grandpa Frank might have had a recording of it. I could have heard it in church because the words suggest a song that would be sung in a Baptist church. I did a little research about the song, and found out it was written by Wallis Willis, who lived in Indian Territory (now Choctaw county) in Oklahoma. I also learned that it is now the official Gospel song of Oklahoma.2 Traditional Lyrics3 Swing low, sweet chariot Coming for to carry me home Swing low, sweet chariot Coming for to carry me home I looked over Jordan, and what did I see?
