Prompt: "What does wisdom mean to you? Give an example."

Wisdom is experience speaking. For example, I tell my clients all the time that "a little manure in our lives is like fertilizer to a plant. We need it grow."

I know this because I can look back on my own struggles and see that they were the times of the most growth. Wisdom does not come miraculously to most of us. We can be whip smart and still not have wisdom. Wisdom comes from experience and that takes time.

"Prompt: On March 7, 1876 Alexander Graham Bell patented the Telephone, the ancestor of our smartphones. Do you remember using a rotary dial? If you've never used a rotary dial take A look at the evolution of the Dial Telephone and write something about one of those phones."

I remember the old rotary phones. I had several of them before the push button phones came along. In fact I've heard it rumored that when 911 first came along they did not want to use 911 because it took too long (almost a full second) to dial the nine. By the time you dialed the number seconds had elapsed. In an emergency seconds count and cannot be wasted. Push button phones eliminated that issue. I don't know if they really originally rejected 911 or not but that is something I read. I believe it was on television about it.

The old rotary phones also did not have storage capacity. You either memorized the number or looked it up in a phone book. Of course a lot of times you could not call out because you were on a "party line". A party line is a phone line shared by two or more households. You'd pick up the phone and somebody would be talking. In an emergency you'd ask them to hang up so you could call out.
