Reflections
Although we are just into the year 2020, reflect on all that’s transpired so far. How is your year going? In the right or wrong direction? Create a blog entry (or static item) for this. (<1000 words)

I have had a relatively quiet 2020 so far. A lot of knitting. Some reading. Searching for a job. Waiting to see if my sister will need my help again. Bills. A birthday—I turned 43 on 7 February, which is way older than I picture myself as. It seems that age is taking me over without notice.

Of course, February also meant four other birthdays—Dad and three of my sisters who are 66, 41, 34, and 27 respectively. And a nephew who is now 7. Lots of cake. I like cake. Of course, too much of it isn't good for me—but a little bit is worth the insulin.

I've been doing a lot of blocking this year. What is blocking? Well, when a knitting project is done, the lace isn't open. It's just a jumble of fabric in a pile in my knitting bag. Then comes washing it and pinning it out so that it opens up into a shawl I can be proud of. I'm currently working on a shawl in green and red (it's such a dark red that it almost feels purple next to the green) and all I have left is the bind off and the blocking. Maybe that'll happen today.

I've been writing more than I have in the last little bit. I haven't been sleeping well, but writing at odd hours and of odd things. A lot of writing here in Wonderland.

I think my year is going fine. Right now, I'm not sure which direction I can claim. It's more that I'm in idle, paused between right and wrong or forward and stopped. I am paused at the beginning of something, I think. Something needs to change.

I'm not sure, as yet, what that change should be. But I look forward to it.
