Why did my brother volunteer to go to Vietnam?

My brother volunteered to go to Vietnam to stop Chinese expansion in Asia.
At a dinner with my best friend and his father, Gunther Wild, Gunther asked
me, "Did your brother enjoy killing people in Vietnam?"
Gunther was opposed to the war in Vietnam.
I said my brother was and is an honorable man and he wanted to stop China from
taking control of Vietnam.
Gunther did not accept this answer and insisted Vietnam was an excuse for greedy
weapons manufacturers to make money.
I was 15 years old and had not heard of the military-industrial manufactures.
Gunther said my brother was flying in Lady Bird Johnson's helicopter.
My brother was an Air Borne Ranger and flew in the Huwi Helicopter.
Vietnam was a failed attempt to rebuild a country.
But, I know my brother is an honorable man.
