Memories

I recall as a child sitting in your lap
You sang to me Christian songs
Which made me fall asleep.
Like “Jesus Loves Me”, I still recall
When I hear it I remember back
When I was a little child just sitting on my lap.

When I got older, as a teen, I wanted you still with me,
We would walk along the beach and feel the hot sand.
Go inside the arcade and play a game of pool.
One thing I always cherished was the way that we could talk.
You were always very special and you always will be.

Now I am an adult, You are still my very best friend.
We love to shop and take a walk up the road as we laugh.
You gave me life and personality, and you showered me with love.
You are someone I can’t do without no matter what transpires.
I love you more than you could know, you're my mom you're my best friend.
