Week 50 Form: Trolaan - Remembering Our Affair

The memories of you return,
Thoughts of romantic rendezvous,
That awaken passions which burn,
That now cause me to sing the blues.

Happiness depended on you,
Hopes for marriage and family,
Hopes that you would not be untrue,
Hopes for love not calamity.

As I contemplate our affair,
A gaggle of thoughts come to mind,
And our song plays out of nowhere,
A mind worm playing on rewind.

Should I have found somewhere a clue,
Suggesting that you were lying,
Suggesting I could not trust you,
Saying you would leave me crying.

Number of Lines: 16 lines, 4 quatrains
Rules: Each quatrain begins with the same letter and has the following rhyme scheme: abab
Starting with the second stanza you use the second letter of the first line of the first stanza to write the second each line beginning with that letter.
On the third stanza you will use the second letter on the first line of the second stanza and write the third each line beginning with that letter.
On the fourth stanza you will use the second letter on the first line of the third stanza and write the fourth each line beginning with that letter.
