Week 52: Form - Ode: Ode to Dawn

As dawn breaks slowly in the east,
I raise my voice in joyful praise,
Ray by ray I consume light's feast,
Giving thanks for the sun's bright blaze.

O Lord, I give thanks for first light,
That announces a brand new day,
And scatters the darkness of night,
As I rise from my bed to pray.

Outside I hear sparrows singing,
Proclaiming their jubilation,
I listen to their songs ringing:
My soul shouts its exaltation.

Rhyme scheme: abab
Form:Ode   An Ode is a poem praising and glorifying a person, place, or thing.
Number of Lines: Odes are traditionally long. However, I am asking for a minimum of only 12 lines.
Rhyme Scheme: Although a rhyming structure is not an essential component of an ode, most traditional odes do rhyme, and including rhyme in your ode can be a fun challenge.
