Day Six of The Bard's Hall Contest
Day Six of The Bard's Hall Contest finds me on the porch in a cloudy day here in Roundup. The 8:45 AM and 9 AM church chimes have already played, love when that happens. I checked the weather report and seems a change is in the offing. My barometer is way low, so no wonder. They are calling for rain, but snow in the higher elevations. Snow? Come on people. It's been in the 80's the last few days. I don't want to go backwards.

Today is Saturday, my Sabbath, my day of rest. I will do no work today. No unnecessary chores will be done today. In the Bible God gave us a specific commandment to rest on the seventh day, do all you work the other days of the week. I try to keep the commandments of God with His help because I love Him. I am not perfect and I know I will never be able to do what is right without His help. But having one day a week to rest and worship is a wonderful blessing. When we didn't have church for. few weeks due to the Corona virus restrictions, it was hard for all of us in our church. But we are now meeting again as a congregation. In fact. all churches in town, except one, are meeting again for worship.

At the museum yesterday we had two visitors. But they didn't arrive until 10 minutes before we closed. So we sat there from 1PM to almost 5PM with no activity. I did get quite a bit of my huge Stephen King book read. Have you read it? Time travel - the book is 11-22-63. It discusses the ramifications of changing history, and not just the assassination of John F. Kennedy. As only Stephen King can write, you are taken on a fantastic journey through time and space.

King has also written a quite wonderful little how-to book on the craft of writing. It is worth a read and a good addition to your library of writing reference books.

I have a few little tales out in contests to be judged. I keep checking to see if they're finalized. The wait is hard. And I want new challenges. I check the new prompts daily for the little challenges, see what I want to write about. See what amuses my muse.

Our remodeling project is limping along. Perhaps the walls and ceiling will be up this coming week. Our helper stopped by last night to chat. Yesterday morning hubby and I wrestled with some heating vent pipe in the basement. We had about an hour before we had to do lunch and then the museum. We thought, we can make this repair. Of course, when you are confident, even cocky, nothing goes right. We wrestled sheet metal and pipe and tight corners. I went up and down and checked the chicken roasting in the oven. Well, the repair got done with half an hour to spare. We ate egg salad for lunch, let the chicken sit and cool, and then left the house to volunteer. Mercy - that was the best looking roast chicken I've made in the longest time!
