Being Around People

Prompt: Do you like being alone or do you like being around people?

I was an only child and I had friends but I didn't like going to school and being around other kids. I like friends and like being around them. I worked midnights by myself with elderly and mentally retarded people and it wasn't always easy. When the mental health organization took over, I got to work with 2 or 3 employees. I made friends with them. We had over 40 patients and that was rough. I didn't like all the patients and I liked that they were in bed. It doesn't always work out that way. Being around with bosses, well I was the boss on midnights. That was alright.

With social distancing, I don't see anyone except my husband and I may go a few places. I am retired now. Just me and my kitty in the daytime. I love animals and I like people who are kind and not a psychic vampire like the one girl I worked with at times. She was two faced and scary! I do good at being alone. I like having friends around me and my Bible Study people but that probably won't be for awhile. I do miss them. I like to text my family and friends and email with people here. Social distancing isn't easy. I do miss people. Hopefully, someday, life will be normal.
