Sofkee Spoon

My wooden sofkee spoon
tells tales,
a homespun gest.
Adventures of soup, stew,
porridge and casseroles.


Author's Note: In Seminole and Miccosukee culture sofkee is a traditional porridge/gruel always kept simmering in a large pot. It is served with a long-handled wooden sofkee spoon.
