Movie Scene Outline Almost Done
Movie Scene Outline Almost Done

Well, the above blog title isn’t exactly true. After all, the movie Scene Outline for my Water Wars scriptwriting project is finished. It’s my Story Outline that still needs some adjusting. Why is that? It’s because as it usually happens my Scene Outline and my Story Outline don’t match. They do some. Maybe even a lot. But not quite completely.

Why don’t they match? It’s because when I do my Story Outline, I base it on my Scene Outline. But when I’m doing my Scene Outline it doesn’t always go as originally planned. Mostly it does. There are usually some that don’t. And those are the ones that need to be updated for my Story Outline. I don’t think that there is a lot that needs updating. But I know that there are at least a few of them that do.

The big question is do I update it now or wait until I finish the four-episode Scene Outlines. I could go either way with that. But I think that it’s best if I do the four Scene Outlines first. I’m sure that I will need to do some updates with them too. And it will be easier to do if I do them all at the same time.

When I do start doing the updates, I’m going to do them on a Character Name basis. That means that I going to group each scene that a Character Name is in. and then figure out what I want my single paragraph for my Story Outline to be. How am I going to group them? I will do that by reading each scene for every Character Name in that Act. Then I will write a single sentence for each scene they are in. And then I will write my single paragraph for my Story Outline.

What does that mean for this project? It means I’m going to be starting Episode One for this project. I don’t know how much of the Teaser Act that I will get done today at work. But if yesterday is any indication, I may be able to get about fifteen to twenty of them written. After all, I did fourteen today. So, there’s no reason why I can’t do at least that many today. Especially, since three are going to be a few Establishing Shots.

Of course, a lot of how many I get written will depend on how busy it is at work today. And if anything goes wrong with where I’m posted. Everything went okay yesterday. All except for it being very busy. And there is no reason to think that today won’t be any different.
