God Shines His Light... on Me

         I recently came off a three-day fast... started for our nation. This was my experience:

         Day One: I found great clarity of thought, vision and the power of God (especially, the Holy Spirit praying through me).

         Day Two: I experienced deep humility; I became utterly aware of how I allowed my flesh to rule and the necessity of fasting regularly for increasing self-awareness, greater awareness of others and God.

                   I realized this fast was spiritually empowering, strengthening (through Christ) to overcome fleshly desires, lusts [especially concerning shopping/buying, over-eating, what I allow myself (and desire) to do and to watch on TV].

                   I repented.

         Day Three: God's overcoming power became clearly and empirically evident.

         Discovery: In me, fasting plays an important part in overcoming otherwise unknown/unseen weaknesses. Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, fasted regularly.
