For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. 3. For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. I often don't know what to make of the statement in verse 3. I don't know if David harbored some resentment to Solomon for Bathsheba or what. I do know that David ultimately chose Solomon as His heir and that is the important thing. For today's lesson, Solomon is addressing Isreal as a whole and tells them not to forsake their roots. Israel's roots may have seemed a bit obscure due to Egypt but God is their roots. Solomon wants them to honor God and they will remain a nation as long as they do. ![]()
Write about you are from. I am from my mother but that's being obvious. I live in West Virginia. I have spent most of my life here. It is a beautiful state and the bulk of the very ancient Appalachian Mountains runs through our state. Culturally West Virginia has a mind of her own. She is a predominantly rural state with fruit orchards and mountains and some of the best white water rafting in the world. She is part of the historic Appalachian trail and older than country sunshine. ![]() I have often heard that yet I question the legitimacy of it. I question it because we do talk to our familiy and friends more readily than strangers. With family and friends we have no problem reading their pedigrees, yet most of us would never dare do so with a stranger. Why? We do it with family and friends because we do not fear rejection from them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
