This is my place to rant and rave, muse and explore different aspects of myself as a writer. I'll be testing out snippets of scenes for my stories, sharing writing articles and sharing my thoughts on writing.
Hi there, I am a young writer and have many of the same concerns. I am currently working on a novel, which I have posted most of the first chapter online here. What I like to think and hope I am correct is that writing the book first in your own words is good because you can see the ideas you have and if they are being represented the way you actually see them in your mind, in words. If not at least you have your story (and the outline) on paper and can figure out ideas of how to express your story better and enhance the flow of the sentences. I am a novel writer, but I am hoping this is true and will prove both helpful to you and myself in the long run.
I just wanted to stop by and say that I'm so happy that
you are a writer, and a very good writer. I don't often
visit my friends or peer's blogs because normally I don't
want to invade their space, but I truly enjoyed your blog
and will be back to read more. You are my kind of writer,
and I love it when someone writes that they feel that way
about their writing. I know I have many friends on Writing.Com
who feel the same way. It's the Writer in us don't you think.
Hugs on this one

I have to agree with you there. Writing is all about being creative and letting your imagination roam where your feet will never take you. So you can't really write about what you know if you are making up a lot of the details. People have to have at least a limited imagination if they want to read anyway, otherwise how would they be able to imagine that the story is taking place in the first place?
When I wanted to be somewhat serious I started my blog, otherwise I let my mind wander and see what I can come up with.
Nancy,
Thank you for giving me an update on your favorite authors, my friend. I think this first entry in your blog brought out your love and wants for the literary world.
