If I don't write about it, I might implode.

On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina and levee breaches destroyed my home and my birthplace, but not my hope and my sense of humor.

This journal is a place for my thoughts and opinions as I cope with surviving Katrina and as New Orleans recovers.

"The List" - A list of U.S. levees in possible danger of failing.

"Thank You!" - I owe so many thanks.

Post Katrina - Items related to the storm and its aftermath.

I was at Donaldsonville, Louisiana until me and my family returns to New Orleans at January 2006.

I was told you were at a shelter in TexArcana. Texas! I never 'got' that you weren't.

Just wanted to say you are right on here. I agree. Don't think I could always see the positive side though. That's neat o you!

Peeps cannot let themselves truly wonder how you & others are coping. If they went there-- I think they fear caring too much sometimes, so they just don't let themselves care at all. Not defending. Just an observation from my own experiences.

And blaming the victims is somehow easier? Crazy n'est pas? Pardon my french-- very veryyyyy rusty

Oh, my goodness, what an ordeal you had to suffer. I'm so sorry for your struggles. It's amazing the spirit you have, and the dedication to getting your body back to health and making it as strong as possible. That was one massive stroke you had. I hope and pray that you will be 100% back, with speech, walking and strength. You are a determined person and you will come through this! God bless you.
