*sighs softly and smiles* This is beautiful LuAnn. I was wandering over the blog list when I saw the first few lines of your entry in the preview and thought, "Wow, it's so rare to find someone so beautiful that they address their inner self with such loving affection." Too often it's so easy to berate and insult and hurt the self within that I thought your open, honest love was radient and was drawn to it.
As another who's outside doesn't reflect the inside or my own internal picture of what I 'should' look like I can relate at least in part to how you are feeling. I wanted to remind you that we are often our own worst critiques. I have found that when I'm feeling fat and ugly it's actually harder to lose weight. Instead I approach weight lose from a medical perspective. Using the numbers of my BMI to know how far I have to go to be healthy. When you're in a healthy BMI range you'll be the right size. But to get there stand tall, feel beautiful, picture yourself slim and toned, walk proud, and smile. Amazingly enough, even before the inches fall away the rest of the world begins to sit up and notice your beauty.
Meanwhile, yours words on the page show it to me. Keep up that fantastic positive attitude and thank you for reminding me to treat my inner self with a little more love a little more often.
