I do not know where to begin with this description. The time period is from 0 to now. Please don't ask how long that is. I am sure with certain clues, you will be able to figure that out.
I am writing this on my favorite old computer at home. I have a computer room that doubles as a retreat for a few of my pets when they want to be alone.
I will cover mostly current thoughts. I hope to add some pictures as I have seen in a blog. I think that to do this sharing will take a lot of work, but the pictures I have seen are well worth it.
Occasionally, I might review a flashback in mylife. I have times when I just roll that special even around in my mind until it has every possible facet examined. Usually this time is to try to figure out a "what if" scenario.
If some of my items have no zest to it feel free to say so. I think that after I have some a few trial runs, then the real me will be out for all of the world to see. Luck you! As the saying goes, "Come with me and the best is yet to be."
Wow! That is some list. You have lots to blog about. Can't say I have anything on my list to compare to yours. I am interested in the Olympic sport, what have you done with your degree in audiology (music?)?
Which president did you meet and for how long?
I will go from here over to your bio and see what things you have written. I write mostly poetry and was away for awhile so I have nothing new posted except on my blog. I am hoping to get back in to poetry.
I am not a party animal. In fact the word party makes me think of the wild scenes of movies. But to I am okay with being in the kitchen as a helper who puts things together and later goes round to clean up. I have never seen people eat too much or drink too much. My friends think that is fine because it leaves more for them.
One night I went to a party in which the host was a good friend of my brother. He and my brother enjoyed military conversations. The themes went from major battles to weapons employed. Now even if these two men were at a different partly, they would find each other and begin where they left off the last time they were together.
One night I went to a party where a character for the next movie being filmed was invited. All of the guests flocked to get a selfie picture or autograph. I smiled at the fact that my brother had finally gone to a party that he could really enjoy.
I walked around and picked up plates, glasses and napkins. As I did so , I bumped into this friend of the host. He seemed to think that it was funny that i was trying to keep the place nice when the other guests were complete slobs. (Sorry but they were.)
We introduced ourselves. I found out that he went to the same college that I did many years ago. I did not go through the fine arts program. I was going to be a teacher for the multi-impaired. He mentioned that his son and his wife had a child with Cerebral Palsy. They were concerned that there were not enough programs for the child to have an acceptable education. I understood his worry. I mentioned that the child's doctor should contact the medical center and discuss his little patient with a director of pediatric development. That put the guest at ease and he thanked me for my time.
When my brother, his wife and I were going home, the host ran out to the car and thanked all of us for coming. He said that his friend left and would always remember the kindness we showed his special friend. It was a great evening.
The mystery began at 10:00 pm when I was trying to find a little snack before bed. I had a gift of molasses cookie in the cookie jar. Now....(music duh-duh-duh- duhhhh) the jar was barren. The only clue was a few crumbs that had been overlooked by the criminal involved. I decided walk through the house .
I peeked into my brother's room. He was asleep with a book laid across his chest.
Next was Papa Joe's room. He had drank a glass of milk but did not appear to eat anything with it.
Finally was Aunt Fiona who was supposed to be on. a diet. On her night stand was a plate with one cookie left. As she came up the stairs,, with dry clothes fro the dryer, she looked startled at me. I had caught her red handed and red faced.
"Hope you don't mind."
"No Aunt Fiona, but someone has to tell the doctor that you broke your diet.
"Yes, I guess the truth is best." She walked into her room and looked out an open door, "But I'll do it okay?"
I did not think that the next batch of cookies will last more than one day.
I smiled at the fact that my new recipe would have been a success. But then I have taken a few cookies that smelled so good when I was younger.
Motto: If one is going to make cookies, then put the jar on the top shelf in the pantry.
I have yet to get the LOGO copied. I will work on it. In the meantime, enjoy the entry. Have a good day!
"January reminds us that we have 12 new chapters to fill. Make the most of each one".
We have a calendar which could be compared to a book. Most of the calendars have the universal holidays listed. One has the option to add birthdays, anniversaries as well as births. Those are the known factors.
But the spaces are reserved for special times and events that could be important to family and historical notes.
My list of events are"
1. the day my husband and I arrived at our new home.
2. the day we went to our first church service
3. the day that citizens in the area remember a federal building was bombed
4. the day our neighbor's daughter was killed by a man who was angry with people in a medical office
5. the day a tornado tore up a house nearby
6. the day our son-in-law and wife were in an auto accident
7. the day that I was attacked and beat up by a goose
8. the day I ordered a gift for my husband
9. the day that I had surgery
and the list could go on.
Each month or chapter could be as descriptive as I choose. Some incidents could have newspaper clippings saved or notated.
Not only that but some calendars have such beautiful pictures that they could be used as prompts for stories, poems or dream vacations.
Why not just say that calendars can be fun, informative as well as archival. Ten years from now, I will look back and think, "those were the days, my friend."
I have tried to copy the Blog Circle of Friends logo but it did not show. I am so far behind in writing that I will try to do two per day to catch up. I do hope to do better for the new year.
And yes the dog picture is gone. He is my husband's PTSD do who has done unforgivable acts that I do not want to see him when I write. He has eaten my cat's food and the cat needs this food. More to be explained later.
If I could treat and watch back to back to back, I would do the ten years of STARGATE SG1 series. Sci-Fi is my guilty pleasure. I think the stories are pretty well done. I think that I would like to go through the wormhole with the main characters for one trip. Of course I would be observing for purposes of science since I am a retired teacher. If I could write a small section in one of the shows I would be a heroine or saved by the amazing Jack O'Neill. He is a Mr. Cool and a nice person from what I have heard from the conventions he has been at.
One must add that a series spinoff was STARGATE:ATLANTIS could be enticing. There are good episodes. I think that this series handles the question of alien life out there is reasonable. The humans are resourceful and credible. I just would not want anyone that we did not like to be killed for ridding this character. Ethics had to. be used in the equation of what to do.
I will try to get on track and up to date. Ask questions if you need to know more. Have a nice end of the year and take care of yourself in 2025.
