I pull a card...if it doesn't speak to me...perhaps it was meant for you? How to Read the Tarot Begin by brewing a cup of tea, a nervine, lemon balm or chamomile, this is after all, your future. A reading at the dark of the moon is best, before the night creatures crawl and bad humours fill the air. Pick a circular deck, with a fairy-tale motif, and no reversals. Hold a question in your heart, shuffle the cards and place them on the table. Choose only two. Like the ancient Israelites, these are your seer stones, Urim and Thumimm, black and white, yes or no. Isn't that all you were asking? |
Art SunTzu wrote "The Art of War". There is no art in war no dark beauty in ashes of olive trees no gifts in debris. The blood of innocents floods the streets. Survivors fashion coffins of boxes. Houses simmer with the secrets of smoldering hate. Mothers raise their arms to heaven and chant an ancient refrain: Make art, not war. Mirror I pray when you look in the mirror you do not see only your political party. When I look in the mirror I see God, and She is black, white, brown not and/or, but and/and queer, hetero, asexual handicapped, whole addicted, newly sober Republican (god forbid), progressive. When I look in the mirror I see God and I am not lonely. 15 lines Prompt: mirror Pholarchos Tarot--19--the Sun--In the inner heart lies the gold. |
At Seventy-Two I have no further goals I wish to achieve, at sea-level I am aging more slowly. This is not like nihilism I believe but a veneration of all things lowly. Trapped in this aging body I will not grieve and celebrate my life for it is holy. Sonatas I'll play till all tears be released, salt waters untrap our feared, loathsome beasts. Corals, stars, flowers coming to fruition, I have escaped by my death of ambition. I believe dreams do love us to completion. Peace Of course I want world peace But I mostly pray for personal peace for my soul, my family, my friends. I build my altars to the Old Gold Woman, Madonna of the Flowers, Kwan Yin, Durga, Mother Earth. Here every molecule spins ecstasy and every fugitive desire bears fruit, and we know the better angels of our being. Here, our hearts are a confluence of a thousand wild roses. 12 lines Pholarchos Tarot---3--Empress----ecology not theology |
