My blog--I pull a card--if it doesn't speak to me...perhaps it is for you?

How to Read the Tarot

Begin by brewing a cup of tea,
a nervine, lemon balm or chamomile,
this is after all, your future.
A reading at the dark of the moon is best,
before the night creatures crawl
and bad humours fill the air.
Pick a circular deck, with a fairy-tale motif,
and no reversals.
Hold a question in your heart,
shuffle the cards and place them on the table.
Choose only two.
Like the ancient Israelites,
these are your seer stones, Urim and Thumimm,
black and white, yes or no.
Isn't that all you were asking?

Yesterday's card from the Dark Goddess Tarot--was Aphrodite--for May--love and beauty. Perfect for the month traditionally associated with Mother Mary.

Today from the Pholarchos Tarot---Death---appropriate for the death of 2022---for June

Pholarchos Tarot--13--Death--Keep your wits about you as you harvest metamorphosis.

New Year's Prayer

It is dance that invented us,
truth that we are always dancing.
Atoms, molecules, dust to dust
sporulating, dying, crashing.
May you see with butterfly eyes,
know exquisite divination.
Enfold others in wanton sighs
and find temporal salvation.

Yesterday the Day out of time--Day 2--for February. An ibis at the pond. Ibis represents balance and beauty.

From the Dark Goddess Tarot yesterday pulled Siren of Fire--Qadesh--pleasure and beauty.

Today's card from Oracle of the Essences---Marjoram---trust and benevolence. One of my favorite herbs to use in cooking. This is for March.

Beauty is not a luxury but a strategy for survival. Terry Tempest Williams

I watched the Call the Midwife Christmas special Christmas night. Sister Hilda when asked how she persevered through daily tasks and impossible situations replied that she looks for the beauty in every situation. Find the beauty.

Charge of the Goddess

Grow in beauty
Roll in dust and moonshine
Stroke your body
with star and stone.

The 12 days of Christmas begin today and run through Epiphany (January 6) or Twelve Night. These are the Days out of Time---an omen for each day signifies a message for the coming months. Today is for January.

Ducks in our man made pond today. Wood ducks, not the ubiquitous Muscovy. Duck's totem meaning is balance.

Today from the Pholarchos Tarot I pulled the Temperance card, a symbol of balance. I drew Temperance yesterday from the Gaian Tarot.

A parade of ducks
even a cold man made lake
holds many pleasures

So January 2023---balance

Pholarchos Tarot--14--Temperance--Nobody leave, find the balance of delight.

I am in Facebook jail for 2 days. The comment in response to a question: What would you do if you received a MyPillow for Christmas. I said I would burn it with an effigy of Trump. Apparently that goes against their non-existent community standards. I guess they can't tell sarcasm from reality. I have of course often thought of leaving that platform, but I have contacts that I would rather not lose out there in internet land. Maybe no more political comments. Sheesh! Though I have left Twitterville because of the Musk(rat).
