I felt the same way when I was approaching the one year anniversary of my Mom's death. It was like--How can time be moving farther away from when she was here? I wasn't ready to deal with it either. I was mourning the loss of my mother. It became stark whenever I had the urge to go to the phone and call her about a question I had about a recipe of hers or to share some news with her. I realized all over again she wasn't there.

Things will get better. Thoughts will be filled with the good times and laughter and adventures shared without all the tears. But I know a year was not enough.

I hope that things do get better. With me, it seems like two steps forward and then a step back sometimes, but I am not as fragile as before. I like to believe it's improving day by day with God's grace and help.

But we look at what we can accomplish when we try and it is encouraging.

I was stressing about my washing machine, but then I tried doing what the manual said and it seemed to work. I ended up cautiously optimistic about it.

Didn't rush into anything, just hoping and praying for guidance from above.

Home Goods is a store I haven't been to in a while. I used to find cow parade cows there.

Food is comforting at times. I love smashburgers at this one place we take Rascal. It is enclosed but outdoors. They have heaters and fans so in the winter they can heat it. They have yummy onion rings, too. It takes a 1/2 hour to get there, but it's worth the drive.

Rascal is very welcome and that is another plus. This is a nice memory and something to look forward to.

I don't know about an island.

I wonder who they call when the internet doesn't work or a washing machine gets broken and how do they get things delivered, by boat?

It might be fun for a few days, but then I'm not sure about the whole island thing.

If I had unlimited funds, I would have bought another home, but in Ireland. Well, it's an island too, so there's that I guess.

Wednesday Anyone?

I got a blood test today for my Oncologist. I had to get a blood test 2 weeks ago for my regular Doctor. Why couldn't one blood test be done and sent to both Doctors? Insurance and money. Unreal.

Ot with soon be a year since my mother died. I thought I was dealing with it but I went to the cemetery today and now I am not so sure. Healing and praying. I pray for better days.

It may rain. It is going to be in the 30s.

I hope everyone is having a good winter.
