kindness is in I just posted a comment in your blog then randomly opened this and there you were! 2014... was just yesterday?

I wrote that I was on page 3392 of my journal ... I'm on page 5451 now.

Little successes... still apply!

Witchy Yule Woman: The Rock always remembers until even it is worn away by wind and water, reduced to grains of sand.

As a child I felt safe alone in my summer-garden or winter-closet. I would have envied Harry Potter's nook under the stairs.

I have good night-vision. I see the hundred shades of black and grey.

Fortunately, I live in a world of a thousand colors by day.

I miss the pitter=patter of little feet. Sometimes the loss overwhelms so much seek solitude in a place where darkness can only reside.

I wonder if you reside in the darkness too when I read your comments.

Anni Pon Perhaps overdone on the references. Glad you picked up on 'venison'. 40 words makes it tight.

I was homeless years after I took in refugees. Folks did help me. Maybe that thought was lurking in the back of my mind. "Homeless" is a deadly label in so many ways. I left Kansas for Montana in 2008 because I wanted to start anew.

I love this idea, and all the references and imagery. Especially the line: ‘Poverty was a red-nosed light-bulb flashing "homeless”…’ it’s really tragic to think of the jolly man who gives everyone gifts every year in such dire straits he has to eat his rain deer, and no one would help him….

Apondia Definite loss of habitat in Thailand. Elephants have a hard time as do 100 species of birds. Humans tend to not know what they have until it's all gone. Very anthrocentric.

I've read about the monkey problems in India and a couple other countries. I also read about loss of habitat as causes.
