 Gratitude breaks the spell of Writers Block |

Staring at a blank page is like staring into a snowfield. The snow, untouched by civilization and unmarked by living creatures, blinds you for a few minutes, it glistens reflecting subtle shades of pure white and rainbows at odd angles. If you stare at the snow too long, you get lost in the interplay of light and shadow. As the day wears on, you become awestruck at the beauty of the snow's perfection. You marvel at the way an oak tree cast its ebony shadow across the pure white snow. You watch the tree's shadow change, grow and shrink, as Earth turns and the sun moves from morning to evening. If you stand out in the snow too long without moving, you risk snow bite or freezing. If you are fortunate, a red fox will walk across your line of sight. The fox will leave his footprints written in the snowfield. As you watch the fox move, the spell holding you in one spot staring at the snow is broken. You are free to go inside out of the cold and out of danger. I must say, writing 500 words a day isn't difficult, unless I'm attempting to write on a single subject. Kamál (Perfection), 5 Jamál (Beauty) 174 BE - Monday, May 1, 2017 CE Twelfth Day of Ridvan It's the Twelfth Day of Ridvan which means I'm only doing the work I absolutely have to do. This morning we went to the food bank to pick up food. Next we went to the bank to cash the rent check Faye sent, then to Smith's to pick up my meds and purchase a money order for the rent. De took the money order to the rental place and then went shopping. I haven't go the mail yet but I suppose I should check it in a few minutes. I'm expecting something from my Kidney doctor to get a blood test this Friday. "Weekly Goals" Goal 5/1/17-5/5/17 My goals this week are (1) review, (2) compose blog entries, (3) enter a contest, and (4) do some port housekeeping. The only other thing I did this morning was download two new apps to my smartphone. One was the Lights of Guidance app and the other a Badi Calender app. I'm not sure whether I'm going to download any more apps to my phone or not. I'll just have to wait and see how much data I use with the apps I have. |

Only bush honeysuckle in bloom. It's not very fragrant. The intoxicating vines bloom later. But we have lilacs... until this heat roasts them.
