Damien Karros is the depressed and seemingly crazy main character. He has a hard time separating fantasy from reality and it is tearing him apart. He talks to no one and hates the entire world. When a new group of foster kids show up to his school he has no idea why they take such an interest in him, but he finds himself learning to live again through them.
