The title alone for this entry is gold! It's unfortunate that you got sick and Alex was the wrong place at the wrong time, but if ya can't laugh about it now, when can ya laugh?
I want to know more about this time in your life. I've traveled but only as a 'senior' and I never was a fun person to be around.
When I was younger I did get to some places but I wasn't a free-spirit and because I didn't like water and easily got motion sickness I'd never had done this.
Although ... cleaning up Alex could've been fun. But I would've been too embarrassed.
"I wish at least once in my life to enter the grocery store and simply take whatever my heart desire without looking if I'll have enough money to pay it all." I love this sentiment and this look into your mom and your own past. I bet it's crazy to have that money and means now not to limit yourself when you on in a store and I can see your mom grabbing what she pleases because she can. Having such a choke hold on your finances for necessity can make it a breath breathed to do what you want. Thank you for sharing this with us and I agree with Fivesixer this is beautiful.
he literally bathed in my vomit. I'm sorry, that description has me cracking up here. Whenever I have the urge of getting sick I have this weird ritual of stripping all my clothes off and praying to the porcelain gods, but that doesn't work for motion sickness. You just end up with it eveywhere. That is quite memorable! Any time you try to control the sickness it comes fiercely for you.
