A Journal to impart knowledge and facts

July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

Facebook games: waste of time, occasionally necessary distraction, or borderline obsession? Why or why not? And have you or would you ever spend money on in-game purchases specific to the game itself?

Red Dragon

*BookOpen* 7 degrees today and mostly sunny with a 6 inch layer of snow *Reading*

I have a Facebook page. But I rarely use it. My husband can spend a whole afternoon reading Facebook.

But I don't play games there much. I tried a gummy game but I lose a lot so I'm not very good at it. We have limits on our internet. We share the time so I leave as much as I can for K because he works on the farm machinery and has a part time job even though he is retired. So when he has an afternoon off he does Facebook. Retired people can be the busiest people on the planet.

As far as games go, a couple years ago I managed a Kindle Fire. It is primarily for reading. I then enjoyed the system so much and was able to store and read all I wanted so I also bought a Paperwhite. Amazon introduced me to kindle store games.*FacePalm* Now I am hooked. That is OK. I can walk away if I want. *BigSmile* I play Classic Words against the computer and win sometimes, I like the hunt and search games, Minecraft PE, God of Light, Coloring, Farming, The Secret Society, Jigsaw Puzzles on Kindle, and the story games from Arteflex Mundi are fun. At Christmas I discovered Monument Valley from Ustwo Games. Just a fun addictive game.

At this point I only have a couple hours a day to spend on games and reading. Anyway I started writing a book in November and I am still writing. And, I still do at least 5 reviews a month for The Monthly Reading Challengeon WDC.

Every day I shut it all down and just walk away with my dog. He is high energy and needs lots of exercise time or he finds ways to make his own fun. The last two days it has been too cold to walk outside and enjoy it but the sun is shining today so that makes 7 degrees easier to take. Cleaning, laundry, barn work, all keep me busy. Some day I will rest but I don't know when? *Ha*
