I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.
I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.
I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.
I think it's amazing the crow family joins you. I have hummingbirds every day and I love watching them. Birdwatching is immensely enjoyable. I am grateful that we choose to visit each day.
The temperatures have dropped here in Nevada too. There's a mountain we see in the distance, and it's already dressed in white. I think it's going to be an interesting winter, don't you?
Judith, Dr. Suess published his first children's book And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street in 1937. During World War II, he took a brief hiatus from children's literature to illustrate political cartoons, and he worked in the animation and film department of the United States Army. My first experience with his work was How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which was published in 1957 and my grandmother bought it to read to me.
I read this somewhere over the weekend. When does the word old start in anyone's life? Tomorrow, always tomorrow, never today.
I'm not sure how I will be able to blog in 2019. I have not even been on the computer often in two months. Still reading books though. finally got "The Presidents Missing" on kindle from the library. It's a pretty good who dun-nit. I think everyone should read the last chapter even if you are not interested in the whole story.
My afghan is almost finished one more row of motifs than crochet a trim. The last row of motifs are almost finished. Would be finished but, don'[t have a lot of sit still time to do the work.
Almost time to say good bye to 2018. And, hello to 2019.
Reorganized the house, threw out a lot of non essentials. Introduced a new kitten to the family. I'm wondering what kind of weather we will have in the next two or three months.
Took a course in plant Identification and using herbs for teas and salves. It's interesting how valuable those dandelions really are I have a recipe for dandelion wine. Very simple to make I need to find it.
