July 22, 2015 I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done. I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them. I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC. |
Motivational Monday! Actor William H. Macy, born on this day in 1950, once said, "Everyone hooks up with George Clooney. He's a genuinely cool guy. He's using his powers for good." How are you using your powers for good?  In my younger years I was a cub scout leader. I was also a leader of a youth program in a church for awhile. One year I did a few months as president of the PTA. I've visited the sick when a local pastor asked me to accompany him. When I was in college I kept a book bag full of pencils. Many students showed up in classes needing pencils. I also gave away cheap gloves to students hoofing to class, without gloves in a snowstorm. Most of my endeavors are gone now. Even the circumstances of earlier years have changed. Now, I feel I just tell. I seem to gather information from some of my research that is needed. Then, when the subject is talked about I can give out information I have gleaned from reading books or surfing the internet or talking to other people. Just recently I learned more about a subject that seems ongoing. The subject is noise. For instance Merriam-Webster Dictionary has definitions for both Pink Noise and White Noise. These are back ground noises that can be heard by the human ear. The subject is presently being discussed because of sounds that can be heard on AM radio. Sometimes, AM radio can pick up sounds from extreme ranges. Also, it may pick up sounds that are also being picked up by the human ear, but are not explainable. Electromagnetism is being treated by doctors. Because there are people that become extremely sensitive to electricity. The point is some people cannot be inside a building, that is using electricity. Sensitivity can be in the form of being able to hear the sounds electricity makes as it travels through wires. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrophonic_hearing This is the latest link from which, I gleaned information. Electrophonic hearing is the human hearing mechanisms sorting out external electromagnetic fields. There is sometimes a small news article about unexplained sounds within society. So, the more information I find the more informed I can be. The Aurora Borialis is another source of these types of sounds. If your hearing strange sounds let me know.  |
