A Journal to impart knowledge and facts |
July 22, 2015 I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done. I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them. I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC. |
On this day in 1840, the first adhesive postage stamps went on sale in Great Britain. Who would you like to send a letter to, past or present? I have two letters I wanted to write this spring but they are not done. My printer quit working so they are not mailed yet. They are just friendly hellos to people I know. I could write them by hand but I found the printer glitch and fixed it so now it is finding time to push forward. It was a case of find the printer software or write the letters. Even when I write I push some other thing out of the way. Now, the grass is growing so I will be mowing it by hand because K broke the riding lawn mower. Not, as much grass will get mowed but I will get some walking accomplished. Blogging makes me happy but I see I will skip a day once in awhile until I catch up on spring cleaning. ![]() I am reading books just because I like to read. so I waste some time their or not wasted depending what I am reading. I like postage stamps there is a large collection in my library. But, I have not added anything to it in many years. It kept me busy before I started riding horses and having children. Always busy, never done. Having lots and lots of fun. Oh look a poem. |
How did you get out of something you were obligated to do? ![]() I'm behind in a lot of work this week (must be spring fever) so here goes trying to answer this: It has been awhile since I was really obligated to do anything. Years ago before college I was a cub scout leader, leader of a church youth program, sang in the choir of church, worked in a shop for a few months, worked in donut shop for 3 years, raised Children. Obligated: bind or compel legally or morally (definition from google) I try to keep all bills paid, pay taxes, show up at family gatherings (defined by my children and their children) I always went to work on time rarely asked for special time off. Life is full of le'ts get it dones. So I tried to keep up. So, I'm looking back, I think I'm like a lot of people I keep on keepin on until I can't keep on any more. ![]() I rarely wiggle out of anything if I can't do it I say so and explain why it is easier that way. Just talk to me I can talk? |
