I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

I love the craft fairs but not shopping in the bigger stores. When I was laid up after my back surgery I watched a few Christmas in July movies on Hallmark.

Clothing is definitely more expensive these days, sales matter.

My paternal uncle lived near my grandfather.

My maternal grandmother lived close to family in the hollow.

My father's family tended to live close, even moving together to Oklahoma and South Carolina.

My mother's family scattered.

I wish... but we both know about wishes without wings.

My experience in Thailand was mixed, but I don't doubt that families remain close as friends often do. In Costa Rica it can be multi-generations living in the same area.

And I'm spending a lot of time teaching my granddaughter sewing and crocheting, I love that.

I used to spend every summer with my grandfather and I loved it. During the school year I would spend weekends at my other grandparents and I enjoyed that time very much.

As a grandparent my older grandchildren would spend the summer with me. Then in 2021 when my daughter (my youngest) and her boyfriend split she asked for help, so we moved to Vegas. We share a house together, my husband, my daughter, my granddaughter and me. It works for all of us.

Yes. I have a ton of things to fix this year and I don't move as fast as I use to. I do expect a very snowy or just cold winter so I wand to be ready.

Those who live in the colder climates see July and August as the months to get things done before winter returns. When I lived in Maine, after the 4th July family camping trip, we harvested some of the early veggies, then canning them for later. (I made pickles with a lot of baby cukes and canned tons of green and wax beans. In the evenings we cut and stacked firewood in the woodshed.

I can see the green contrasting the hay fields in my mind. I miss seeing fields and orchards.

Always treat an animal as if it understands your language. They understand more than people give them credit for most of the time. - Completely agree. If not the words, they understand tone and behaviour.

What do you think about secrets and keeping secrets? If a secret would be against your morals or beliefs or if it was about hurting someone or a group of people, would you still keep it?

I believe that openness and truth clear sin. If I knew it was a secret and keeping it would not endanger people, I might keep it. This would be necessary for a judgement call concerning what would happen if it were told. This is such a prompt without specifics. Christmas gifts or birthday presents are one kind of secret. Murder and mayhem are another kind of secret. Whether I would keep it or not just depends on the secret. On another point of view, I am prepared for people to tell anything they know about me, as well as how they know it. How you get to know information may be firsthand or gossip. If you know a secret analyze. How did you get to know the secret, how are people being hurt by the secret, should you talk to the subject of the secret.

I find that most people never actually get to the heart of anything that is being passed around about an individual. Because there is no actual person to person discussion by individuals actually involved in situations. The USA has so many brotherhoods and sisterhoods and trouble is made for a lot of innocent people.
