A Journal to impart knowledge and facts
July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

Congratulations on your virtual blogging adventure! Good Morning

I am blogging early this morning. My TV turned itself on at a very loud volume this morning. The TV is in the living room. You could hear the news all over the house. One day before the election. One thing I do not want to hear is election news.

I like many different kinds of candy. I try not to eat it regularly. One thing is the longer you live the less relevant food seems to be. Is candy food/ It irks me that so many commercials are about food and medicine. Even Prime movies have commercials.

At least when I make cookies, I know what the ingredients are in the product. Then again it is a holiday month. Election Day, Veterans Day, Native American Heritage Day, Thanksgiving, and probably some others I don't know about.

Thanksgiving dinner means family fudge and pie. I don't have dairy goats anymore, so no goat milk fudge. It is really the best. Maybe I will try to find some canned goat milk in Walmart. Just to make fudge.

See Ya!

Congratulations on your virtual blogging adventure! Good Morning: *Wave*

Just thought I would use the prompt to clarify. The farm hand or barn help is Keith. He eats peanut butter with grape jam. actually, it is jelly. I am not sure I know the difference. I put the sugar cookie recipe on WDC.

I've read all the Black Stallion books more than once, when I was in my early teens and also as many of the red stallion books as the library had available. (I do not do allegory; this sentence is about horses.) Later in life when I was keeping horses of my own the training tips in those books were relevant. Also did not breed horses or keep stallions. Teaching riding and training were my only experience.

Only buy whipped cream for the holidays. Sometimes have it for desserts at that time. When the children were growing up my sons often helped in the kitchen. Probably used cream from goats' milk for whipping.

For those of you who never had goat's milk; it has a different molecular structure from cows' milk. You can expect 35% protein to 1 cup of milk and vitamin B-2. I milked my own herd. We did not homogenize the milk. I also made my own cheese. I was raised when I was a baby on goats' milk because I could not tolerate lactic acid in cow's milk, when I was young. I miss making my own yoghurt. But it is easy to gain weight on goat milk.

Interesting how I could apply the words from the prompt to my real life.

Bye for Now

Prompt: Rading a Book

Congratulations on your virtual blogging adventure! Hi! I'm Apondia

Just finished reading a book called "The Body" by Bill Bryson. Be prepared, if you read the book to wade through some very specific data about the Body. The library did ask me to finish the book or send it back because many people wanted to read it. Sometimes I have to renew a book if I'm reading it slowly this time I would not have that option.

I am interested to finding out that a lot of people in library land are trying to discover anatomy and physiology. I am not alone in my pursuit to learn specifics in the makeup of our organic nature. One of the courses I took online called the human body an Organic Machine. I think that is the best description I have learned so far.

In chemistry the shape of organic molecules differs from the shape of other molecules. Simply speaking organic molecules are three dimensional. That is enough description for this article.

The author of this book, Bill Bryson, also wrote "A Walk in the Woods". I think there is a movie about this as it is about a man walking alone on the Appalachian trail. Watched from Amazon on my kindle. Another Amazing story.

Guess I'll go read a book. Just started a paperback book I bought on Amazon. Went looking for a bookmark found one on my desk from *WDC* It needs coloring. I really like getting the paper bookmarks then coloring them. Always like my mail from WDC. Have a great day. Day light savings changes again. Spring forward--Fall back. Bye.BB

The chase riders checking speed with reins; dragged their horses to sliding stops, as they stared in disbelief. The rouge stallion was galloping with unchecked speed straight at the edge of the canyon.

Congratulations on your virtual blogging adventure! Making the News by Apondia

I was standing at the counter of the Corner Booth. It still sells printed newspapers. The sound of police sirens wailing as they charged closer caused me to turn and look.

A man in a tuxedo ran by on the sidewalk. He had on a black silk tie. The tie was black as night, which is really dark blue I suppose. The end of the tie was blown up against the tie clip with air movement, as he ran. The tie clip startled me, because it was actually formed like a vibrant red bow tie. The same size and shape.

There was a smallish woman slung over his shoulder. She wore a flowing bold blue dress with sunflowers bursting in color across the skirt. Her body bounced, as his every long stride slapped the concrete sidewalk. His long strides carried him quickly around the corner and out of sight of the site.

Within a couple heartbeats another man ran up to me. "I'm the Coroner, did you see a man run by with a woman's body?"

He ran around the corner. I pointed in the direction I saw him run. The Coroner ran off.

Hey! Will this be in the newspaper tomorrow? I shouted after him.

THE END

Prompt- When you sit down to blog, do you outline what you're going to write or do you just free write and let your thoughts take you where ever?

I just write whatever or wherever usually. Although, I generally edit and rewrite when I find odd sentences or wording which is not self-explanatory. For instance, if I say That is cold. I would come back delete the word that and say the Ice is cold. Because I think when we read writing the reader can often put a twist on the meaning if it(the sentence) is not exact about the meaning. Plus, this is one of my failings if I'm in a hurry.

I really rarely outline anything I am writing. If it comes out of my thoughts one way and I don't like it, I will change it.

Once had a writing teacher who said, "Write it. Edit it, then let it set for a week and read it." When blogging I cannot let it set a week. If it is a short story and there is time, I will let it set overnight. Then, read it, make changes, and post it. The teacher's comment does help when reviewing writings and trying to make it better.

Cliche

Madder than a wet hen

One bird in bird bath,
shaking water off feathers.
Second bird lands in bath.
first bird screeching in bird language,
knocks second bird to the ground.
