A Journal to impart knowledge and facts
July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

spring butterflys

I still have a lot of spring organizing to do. We had sunshine today. Thunderstorms moving in tonight.

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/02/170223142100.htm

The link will take you to a picture of a honey bee rolling a ball. It seems some studies at Queen Mary University in London have revealed advanced learning capabilities in bees. Yes! This reveals the reason I always thought the one who stung me was aiming at me. *Laugh* This is only the beginning. Soon, people will understand animal's in this world don't get proper credit for their abilities.

I used to follow the Alex (grey amazon parrot) studies. It was amazing how many things a parrot can learn.

I am here late today so I need to go do my chores. Until tomorrow keep writing. *Writing*

Fairy playing a flute

I took February off to catch up on work here at home. I did start to get more organized again.

March is already starting to clamor about what needs to be accomplished.

This morning I walked out to the barn hearing the sound of BOGADEE being shouted from many different directions. That is what the re-winged blackbird song sounds like to me. When I was a child my dad used to tell me the Robins were the first sign of birds returning for spring. As an adult, I noticed, the red-winged black birds were usually the first back in town. This year they showed up at the feeders about mid February.

This morning they were singing from more than one direction. K saw robins over the weekend. We had a short mild snow storm Saturday. The snow had melted by Sunday afternoon so birds had a lot to sing about this morning. I never trust March weather but, it is beginning to look like the mild extended forecast is bringing March in like a lamb this year. I've seen more sunshine this week than for December through mid February combined.

Keep smiling.

This book is a Hoot!

http://goodnewsforpets.com/

Pet news is an entertaining and educational soft news. It can vary from funny things pets do, to indepth how to care for a particular pet. This morning I watched an entertaining informational about parrots. People who like birds need to know how to care for them. A good thing about a bird is it will probably be with you many years. If you out live it, the bird will have to be rehomed.

Cats and Dogs in this country are always in danger of becoming obese which will seriously impact quality of life and the number of years the animal will live. It is important to learn to feed your pet the right amounts of protein, fat, and carbohydrates for its breed.

One way the internet has enriched out lives is the specific information you can find on vitamins and nutrients for our pets.

Have a good day.

https://www.sciencenewsforstudents.org/article/new-solar-system-found-have-7-ear...

I'm sure it would be interesting if someone spotted life on another planet. Some type of life that had similarities to humans would be a surprise. There have been some articles over the last several months that expound about finding planets that may be habitable. We can't drive over to one of them and say howdy yet so, why is the interest growing? I would like to see real space transportation before I can be very enthusiastic about new planets.

When they landed on the moon I thought it would be fun to visit the moon. I kind of figured people would set up a base there to monitor space. Nope, that was just a discarded piece of land. Getting there was the fun, I guess?

Space news is interesting. The value of it may grow if scientists working on space travel ever actually show us some real action.

So far it just says "Hey, look what I found."

O.K. I'll go back to reading my book now. Today it is C.S. Lewis, "The Great Divorce."

Our weather is too fantastic. It has been in the 60 range for three days. However, we are expecting snow in the night Sunday.

Drone News:
I saw this tiger video on the news last night. An ABC report today talked about a herd of elk than were stampeded when a drone flew over them. There was a fine involved for the person who was running the drone.

March is on its way. Bye for now.

Due to a recent email I decided to look up legislative Violence online. Violence that would have led to making a law within the UK parliament about people death during a session. The links above are just a segment of what I found.

*Laugh* On a much happier note I also found this website today.

*Hand* Bye for now.

Your fee today is 2000gps

Dying is illegal in the Houses of Parliaments – This has been voted as the most ridiculous law by the British citizens. What's your take?
What weird laws exist on the books where you live? If you could write a weird law, what would it be?

I like to read weird laws: " All electronic stores who stay open on Sundays have to give $10,000 or an equivalent in food to the local food pantry." (my written law)

As for the British Law, does this mean you can't shoot a brother law maker or just not have a heart attack or other problem death on the floor? they must have had some reason for making this law, or was it just ???? a warning about the affects of law making on the Parliaments?

The Anti Backwards Eating Peanut Law

In Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, it is illegal to walk backwards while eating peanuts in front of Barnstormers Auditorium while a performance is going on.
