No, the quick ending stays. Every interactive needs an instant ending somewhere near the start, as a prank on the reader.

I would like to suggest that Slippery Sale Option Three be treated as a blank and get replaced with a new chapter that eventually finds Will being affected by the book. It was too early for a dead end in my opinion. Also it allows for anyone who is looking to start a new line early in the story.

And, no, it wasn't me this time that dropped the GPs.

I keep forgetting to reply to the suggestion above.

I add new choices to old chapters on an ad hoc basis: usually when I am working in that branch, and I see a nearby chapter, or an earlier chapter, where I would have wanted more choices originally. I don't go looking for places to increase the number of choices.

But if someone knows of a chapter that could use more choices, and would like to see them added, just drop me a line.

Wait! And in this poll I will be posting the entire chapter ... Doesn't everyone always go back and read the previous chapters to refresh their memories?

Question RE: "Invalid Item"

- What's your (Seuzz or anyone) opinion of adding more options to some chapters especially the very old ones that were limited before it was raised to five options? Not every chapter would work to get more, but there are some that another option may have been (still could be) possible.

I haven't gone to look for examples, but I may if I have some time.

From what I've heard from a CC at YouTube, not very good. It's basically forcing you to restart again, except you get a few advantages from your earlier progression. A change for the sake of it, not because it was necessary.

You tell me if that's the case, though. I recall "1MT'ing" with Civ1 on a SNES emulator during college almost through 4 AM, so I know the allure.

I 1MT-ed yesterday for, like, 7 hours into the dead of night. I was so mad at myself.

In my defense, I was trying to get through the "Age of Antiquity" to the "Age of Exploration" because I wanted to see what this new "Age of" mechanic is like.

Yeah... Don't wanna be the bringer of bad news, but you'll most likely take a hiatus sooner more than later. I know about the power of "1MT", and it is utterly captivating. (At least I'll probably have to wait until it releases on Switch or Switch 2, so I'm kinda safe.)

I'm double-tackling both Wizardry 1 remake (on the Switch, of course) and a modded Final Fantasy VI (on an emulator on my phone; coincidentally, it's the farthest I've gotten in FFVI, since I could finish the game at any time, but I'm distracted grinding everyone's levels to tackle one of the new bosses the mod added while figuring out everyone). Curiously enough, both are basically pick-and-go, which isn't eating too much of my free time.

Landslide Closes Poll Early

There is no point in continuing yesterday's poll for another 24 hours. Even if someone contributed One. Billyun. Gift Points! to "Vengeance on an Ex-Friend" it wouldn't overcome the lead that "Body Swapping as a Solution" has in the Free and GP Polls. So here are the final results, for the record:

Body Swapping: 86.5%
Vengeance: 13.5%

I doubt this one will feature the same kind of overwhelming lead, so I'm confident when I say I will leave it open the full 48-hour period, closing it on Thursday at noon ET.

Elsewhere, a five-chapter commissioned run starts today:

* Interactive: "Stealing a Friend"

Background: Will and Caleb, while messing around with the book, have accidentally turned Will's dad into a golem. Will briefly assumed his dad's identity, then he decided that he and Caleb need a place where they can work and study the book so as to find a way of reversing the spell they put on his dad. They wind up impersonating the Welches: Will as Shannon, who is a tutor at Westside; Caleb as Stephan, her university professor husband.

Through luck and serendipity, they have managed to get past the torn page in the Libra, and have even managed to craft an anima band. Will's luck ran out at this point, and after slapping it onto the forehead of a WHS freshman named Oliver Kelly, he has donned it, and woken up convinced that he is Oliver, soul-swapped into Will Prescott's body. In the previous chapter Will/Oliver (Woliver?) has been wondering whether to commit Will's crime again, by putting one of his friends into the body of Caleb, so that he will have a friend to help him out of this crisis ...
