Thoughts, we all have them. What is yours?
What is on your mind? I love all type of topics and will talk about almost anything! So, what is happening with you lately?

I cannot believe that Christmas is almost here and the year almost past! I got to thinking about the New Year and things I wanted to do in January. Closet cleaning and purging to name a few. How about you? I also thought about all the stuff on my computer, especially pictures. So I was reviewing and came across some pics I took when I was visiting museums in Los Angeles. I love art, all kinds, so museums are a big deal for me.

At the Norton Simon Museum in Los Angeles, California, I took a snap shot of The Thinker. The artist is Auguste Rodin. When you see the Thinker, it is hard not to wonder what he was thinking or what Rodin wanted us to think he was thinking. Was it about mankind, or the world? Originally named The Poet according to Wikipedia. It was part of a large commission and it probably makes more since when viewed with its original works called The Gates of Hell. I think he was saying, "Get me out of here". In any case it fascinates me and I thought it would be fun the share it in a trinket. So enjoy, my gift to you, Merry Christmas!

It is the 13th. And, it also is Friday! Should we be concerned? Who out there believes in such superstitions?

I have never been one to believe in superstitions. I am somewhat considered a conspiracy believer. You say what does that have to do with it? I think probably nothing but to me its seems they might have some connection. What is the connection? If there is fire there is smoke. Let's look. If you walk along and see a latter up against construction wall, do you go around or do you just say, "what the heck" and go under? I go around because if I go under, something just might happen. Something may fall through or I might hit the latter or ? Why take the chance, right? Now you say how does that relate to conspiracy thinking? Well, if there is anything that seem unusual, out-of-place, just doesn't sit right, that gets you thinking deeper, right? And then you find something else isn't right and you think a little deeper. May be the comparison is that we think, analyze the situation more.

What do you think? I am really interested in your opinion and it is a fun discussion, right?

Today is December 9. Hard to believe. I have missed a few days posting on my blog. I find it hard to do this consistently. How are you? Do you plan the day before or ? Where do you get your topics?

I put up a little tree this past weekend. I am not for decorations these days. For one thing, I don't have much room for storage. I live in a mobilehome park. It is a nice place, two bed, two bath but not the space for extra storage like having a garage or attic. We have a carport, patio and laundry room (some storage there and I guess my little tree will go there). It is one of those little trees with lights running thru it and you put the two pieces together.

Today I have an exterminator coming as I found insect droppings, I believe, coming from my ceiling. So we need to see what that is all about. I have already put more $ into my place than we spent buying it! New A/C, new roof, new underlayment, and recently, new piping. Oh, did I mentioned a waterheater? So, my home is like some cars. At least I know what is in it. My husband says lets sell and find something else. I say no, lets stay and fight! We already know what we have. I buy something else, and it is pot luck! What do you think?

What are your thoughts about Karaoke?? Do you sing and enjoy it? My community where I live has Friday night Karaoke and I love it. It goes from 6pm to 10. Some Fridays I make the whole 4 hours but being 79 and the chairs are not the best, it usually is less time. My hubby, now he is amazing as he is 91 and he hangs in there. He sings as well.

Karaoke is special because we all do not have to be an Elvis or Barbra or Alan Jackson. No, we just have to love music. We gather, bring snacks to share and our favorite brew!

Years ago, I was a very shy person and wanted to get over it so I signed up for a singing group. The teacher was a person who sung professionally, played piano and was very encouraging to us newbies. So, I sung a song in front of about 6 of us. Not a lot of people but believe me, it helped a bunch.

So now, I have been told, I have a good voice and I believe those who have said that are sincere. But, a key component is to sing within your range of voice. Some folks do not honor this. However, I am very forgiving and tolerate it. After all it is for fun and we are not professionals but you can only take so much cat screaming!

The other aspect is timing. Folks, you must watch the bouncing ball, bouncing finger or whatever is on the screen to help you keep in time.

So, if you have not tried it, I say give it a go. You will enjoy it even if you try it only once.

I am not ready for December 1. It opens the doors to Christmas, which I am also not ready for. It came too fast this year. I tell people that the second hand is moving faster then in the past; It feels it.

So, do I start wearing my Christmas tees and put up decoration now. I barely got through the BIRD and before that it was Halloween.

I do enjoy the lights but even lights are all around these days so the joy of it isn't as it use to be for me. I recently put up lights up in my patio, they look like little hot air balloons and they are so pretty at night. I like sitting in the dark just with those lights glowing.

I wonder want it is about lights that make us happy. As a kid, looking up at the stars at night was so much fun. We would sleep outside in the summer and just put ourselves asleep by starring at those stars.

Star light, star shinning so bright
Who is blessed by you tonight
Will you still shine when I am 29
Or will you burn out...

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving...

Safe travel as you go
Enjoy your visit or your show
Eat less than last year
Even give up that extra beer.

I know it only comes once a year
We are all eager to enjoy the cheer
And soon we will be listening to the Ho, Ho, Ho
Just kick back and let it flow.

It really is all about family
I hope all of you can see
No matter what takes place
Keep a stiff upper lip and a smile on your face!

Yesterday was a tough day for me. Went to an early dental appointment only to be told that I didn't have an appointment. That brought on an unwanted discussion. I told the lady I surely didn't create an appointment that I didn't want. She assured me that they had no evidence of calling or scheduling an appointment with me. She seems very rude and didn't apologize, which I was hoping to see her at least say, were sorry for the confusion - but no. She held her ground and I held mine and left.

Did get out yesterday to run a few errands. They once back home, out in my patio I noted water near the steps to my back porch. Call a contractor friend over to look. Now I live in a manufactured home, built in the 1980s and pipes are up in age. Since there is no other explanation for the water to be where it was, I will need to have my contractor go under the house and change out pipes. We are looking at a possible $4000.

Well, as they say, S**t happens!

Hope your day was better than mine. The good news is, I get a do over each and every day. Thank God for that!

My thoughts today go toward education. How is the education system going to be fix? Can President Trump's team fix it? I sure hope so.

Too many dollars are going to the administration of health care and not to the teachers and students. I remember back several years ago I was at a junior college and I could not believe what I paid for a few text books. I noticed that many of the text books were written by professors and I wonder what they get for writing those and is there a better system.

Special needs children are many times the last to get the items they need funded to them. They should be the first on the list. I welcome any of you out there to join in a discussion on how the education system should function, what changes need be made. We know teachers do not make enough money - that's a given. Are the classrooms still packed?? I would love to hear from parents and teachers on this.

Take care,

I am 79 this year. I know, shocking, right? I thought it would make a good discussion topic. It just seems that since I passed the mid 70 mark, I have become more aware of "time". I even feel that the second hard on the clock moves faster than it use to. I find myself wanting to stay up later to get the most out of my day. Health concerns (I never talked about them like most older people) are starting to really bug me. I don't have any major concerns and I do consider myself blessed. However, I have a condition called IBS but so do many fellow Americans. It slows me down on days and get in the way of some of my activities, so I complain about it (never used to as much as now). Damn, time is short!

I paint with watercolors. Have for years but have not made much progress. Oh, I have a few things I am proud of but nothing substantial to brag about. So why didn't I spend for quality time with my art? I don't know but trying to recoup some of that time now. I also play a Casio and I play by ear (no jokes please). But I want to be able to play more songs so lately I am trying to read notes and learning more chords. Oh my, slow brain at remembering some of this stuff. So why didn't I start early in life? LIFE got in the way! I play mostly for my own enjoyment and I can listen to a song and within a few times can play it. Maybe I should be content with that? I feel I should have done more by now.

Oh yes, there is chess! I play on-line and off. Wow, talk about a challenge. It is crazy because when my late husband was involved with chess (he was rated, I am not), I supported him in his adventures of going and playing in meets but I never play, especially with him cause he would beat me! Yes I was scared but I had no idea that I would ever fall in love with it and play. I missed many years of not knowing that I would like it. I play now with my husband (previous husband passed years ago), and he enjoys it as well. We are not real competative like some but it is now a part of our daily lives.

So, you say what's my beef? I want to do more, get better (I am trying) before time truly runs out.

If you read this, I hope you take it to heart.......one minute you 25 and the next, you turn around and you are 79! Get it done before time is short.
