To: Fathertymme, Winter Edition. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on the issue of transgenderism. You have made some excellent point/questions that I would hope more people would put to heart before taking that road as an answer. The one thing I do not hear asked or questioned by professionals is, "How much of the physical environment affect a person who is unhappy or thinks they are in the wrong body?" What I mean is, how much do we know of the environment (chemicals in the air; what may affect the baby in the womb that may have been cause by health of the mother or self-inflicted; vaccinations; over-the-counter drugs we take; media influence; physical and mental abuse; divorce and I am there are more I am leaving out.
The human body is very complex, especially the brain, and even professionals now say that brain in not fully developed until around age 25; and they say adult and teen brains work differently.
I just remembered, for the other individual who asked about a three year old who wanted to change gender, I will leave the link(s) below of info that is available.
To: Redtowrite, first, thank you for stopping by and for being open and commenting on the subjects at hand. I appreciate all that you have shared with me and your knowledge based on your profession and your family's profession. Thanks also for opening up to me about your personal family history It is refreshing to know folks want to discuss and want to share and help others understand.
I will leave a link to your question on the three year old. I grant that this is unusual but is becoming more common, which frightens me. I also acknowledge the fact that the suicide rate is high for those who have challenges with their gender but it is also a factor for those who have gone through gender changes and have not found it to be the self full-filling answer. I would recommend two books which have helped me to open my eyes to transgenderism: 1. As Nature Made Him - The Boy Was Raised As A Girl by John Colapinto. 2. When Harry Became Sally - Responding to the Transgender Moment by Ryan T. Anderson. I am not totally sure where I stand on the whole transgender issue at this point in my life, but I do believe very young children have not experience life enough to be making such a choice. I also believe that a parent needs to consider that a child is still growing physically and mentally and that what that child may want today may not be what he or she will want or need in the future.
On the other issue, both McCarthy and McConnell seem to flip around when it comes to Donald Trump. During the second impeachment, McCarthy felt that Trump was guilty of incitement as did McConnell but watching the CPAC today, McCarthy was there and stated Donald Trump was the strongest and best think (paraphrase) for the Republican Party and he supported him. If he truly thought Trump was guilty, why would he support him and want him in the Republican Party. McConnell also came out in support of Trump. Typical politics - cannot trust these gentlemen. I watched and listened to President Trump give his speech and I do not believe he was guilty of what they say; he did not incited anyone. I also believe our country is deep trouble with voted fraud and has been be some time. Just because 63 judges (not all Trump filed cases) said no does not mean we don't have a problem. Many of those judges have their own agendas. I also watch when the machines flipped the total votes from Donald Trump to Joe Biden. And, 1000 plus affidavits (many of whom I listened to of their testimonies) cannot all be lying. I do not believe Biden won.
Time will only tell how all this "election status stuff" turns out. I know this, Biden is incapable of running anything; he truly appears to be losing his senses. I pray for our country and our freedom.
Thank you again for your contribution to this issue. I send my blessings to you and please feel free to come back and add more comments if you wish.
I have to admit that is was nice when the news came from public airways so big media giants wren't competing for ratings all the time. That is the problem with huge corporations rather than public money. I loved Walter Cronkite also. I am definitely tired and heart sick about all the political fighting.
Hi-I have reviewed some of your writing and you are very talented. If I gave you the impression on this subject that I am sure gender change is always the right way to go, I am sorry. I was confused by this whole situation actually. I don't understand why people can't just be born male and female and not have any complications at all. Seems like life would be much easier. But life is messy and it doesn't happen that way. Not all babies are born anatomically correct. I think it is wonderful that science can help them to have a better life. Maybe we have gone too far in the fertility deal of children being born from Petri dishes so people can have that option. I am older and believe in science but also realize we might be stepping over the line. There is something else involved too and that is the incredible cost of these changes-insurance only covers a portion. I don't have the answers but I think it is wrong for anyone to push anyone into this very serious procedure that has many complications. I have done enough studying about it to know that sometimes hormones and therapy along with sexual identification helps people without surgery. I do know one thing only adults should be making these decisions. If a child is really having problems, have a professional speak to them not someone pushing an agenda. I believe people will suffer either way because humans do. The only thing I am sure of of is that homosexuals lived very lonely lives previously and I am glad they have a chance to be themselves. I don't want anyone to take their life due to chronic despair. Children can be very cruel to other kids. None of us gets everything we desire and shouldn't. I think a religious conversion answer can be as damaging to people when they feel oppressive guilt for something they can't control. I am a Christian but a compassionate one that believes God loves everyone. Have a good day. Thanks for reading my opinion. Take care.
I wish I could help you understand, but I can Not because I too do not understand myself. Maybe some of our so called technological advances have not such an advancement after all. We created and are creating farther a society of stress and confusion. How can a gender change end well. It seems like humans always want something they do not have, some type of gratification. How can people be unhappy in the gender they were born as? How can it even be questioned or thought about, who puts such thoughts in peoples heads, Educators, Medical industry, or Liberals? It is not nice to fool with Mother Nature and doing so will come back and bite. Our abilities are not always in our best interests. I wish I had your answer
I would like to know your source for the 3 year old that went through the beginnings of a gender change. The only way I can imagine that happening is the child was born with gentilia of both sexes or partial genitals. That does happen but not very often. My uncle is a psychiatrist and I am an RN. We have spoken about transgender issues. Usually this is never even approached until a child is in puberty. It would be very dangerous to give hormones to children. There is a whole process of therapy that is gone through before any medical procedures are begun. Someone who is trans is a very unhappy person that feels like they are in a body that they don't belong in. Perhaps that can be changed with therapy but I haven't heard of that. People have always suffered from this but like gay and lesbian, they suffered "in the closet" and many committed suicide. My son is gay and a very happy person with a long term partner. Happiness is what you want for your children. We have 4 sons, he is the oldest at 48-all the others are heterosexual. Back to the issue at hand, I feel badly for these children but if professionals or parents are pushing them to change when they are still children, that shouldn't be allowed. I can see starting a process at 16 or so with therapy and so on. It is slowly done. A good resource is Caitlyn Jenner's book where she explains what she had to go through. It is a hard decision that isn't made lightly. Life is hard enough, why would anyone want to have all these procedures and drugs if they weren't miserable being the sex they are born? Just my opinion. Thanks for bringing this up. I am glad you like to talk about controversial and challenging subjects. I am an open minded person but I have to disagree with you about the assault on the capital, even Kevin MCCarthy and Mitch McConnell said that day that former President Trump encouraged those seditionists to act. Also, 63 judges declared the Presidential election was fair and legal. Have a wonderful weekend.
I am troubled also, I know Solar and electric cars will happen, As it should. But the the private market needs to set the pace for change. It may take generations for the change, But I suspect it will be faster. It takes time and patience to teach old economies new tricks. As for Solar and Wind they are not always reliable energy source. You will need fossil fuels as back up for many tears into the future. For better or worse consumers need to lead the way forward, Not government
I have been losing sleep over this election fiasco. I am one of the angry ones. My believe is our governing system has been corrupted through and through. The courts have been weaponized, Our so called main stream media news sources has been made a advocate for a political party. Maybe we need election observes next time from Venezuela.
Technology is wonderful and helpful for thousands of reasons. It will never compare to the human brain because it is simply information that has been fed into it by humans. There is no consciousness, no morals or values so we, as humans always win (or God, if that is what you believe). I thought this was very interesting though. A computer could never build a human body and when you think about DNA, that is something we probably will never completely understand. There has to be a power higher than us.
