Thanks for your comments. Yes, you’ve right about things changing with age. I never thought I’d find myself incapacitated. Weird isn’t it? I’m sure we all have had the sense that ‘old age won’t happen to me!’ It seems life had other plans.😂

Nice entry.

Like you, I don't do clothes shopping anymore, and with the arthritis, I stopped walking outside, but I walk inside the house and around the yard. Things change greatly as we grow older and older.

Hats off to you! I don't think I could do what you did. On the other hand, having a lot of people fixing things while you are taking care of the kids and trying to keep them safe would have its own downers, too.
Anyhow, so glad you could and did do all that! That's some feat to be proud of.

I agree the cheetos aka the man who wants to be Hitler and Putin rolled into one, his ignorance will definitely have global impacts.

I've been getting as much as I can in order before my surgery on Monday, February 3rd. I'm having my right knee replaced followed my left shortly after. Writing didn't fit in for me either. Looking forward to seeing more of you in the months ahead.

weather where I live is also unsettling. Took the dogs out for a walk yesterday had some sunshine but today is fog and rain on top of a couple feet of snow turning everything to slush.

Every year I look forward to something called January Thaw. This year we just had a new blizzard every couple days. If the thaw does not show up properly in February, the sap won't run properly from the trees less maple syrup probably. Anyway, forecast says sunshine tomorrow. If we have a freeze in the night all slush will turn to ice.

The feeling was amazing indeed. The first night was the scariest but after that I found so much joy in each task I tried. I've surprised myself on more than one occasion, Yes I can do anything I set my mind to doing.

I can’t say I’d be tempted to go camping on my own, so I think you’re very brave. It would have given you so much confidence knowing you succeeded. Afterwords you must have felt as if there was nothing you couldn’t do on your own.

Time Travel

Use these words in your entry today: sunshine, bananas, coconuts, monkey, tropical, treasure chests, and time travel.

My favourite pastime when I was a child, was reading. There were always lots of books in the house. I can remember many of my most-loved titles but there were many books which belonged to my brothers. I’d pick them up and skim through the thousands of words and would decide these stories weren’t for me; Biggles with his scarf and flying goggles in his open cockpit aircraft did nothing for me. But there was one book which I found thrilling and not a little scary. Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson.
On the cover was a treasure chest, palm trees loaded with coconuts and a monkey carrying a bunch of bananas. Of course I knew by the title this was an adventure taking place on a tropical island. To a little girl in a house in freezing cold England the thought of sunshine and warmth made me wish I could time travel to Treasure Island, back to the days of pirates, treasure and excitement.
Long John Silver scared me and The Black Spot actually kept me awake at night. I ought to read it again one day.
