So sorry! Some memories do hurt, as this must, too.
Still, you did have a good time with her just before you left, and that's really something to be happy about.
I am sorry for your loss. What a beautifully vivid image of a beautiful person in your life! Taking a "mind photograph" is something I have done before, too.
I've been banned from ladders too. In 2021 I fell off a ladder 11 steps down, broke both of my feet painting the trim on our house before we sold it. I made the move to Las Vegas with my feet in air casts and crutches.
I would outsource window washing at this point, the list may grow as I age.
Yes, I agree.
I've let go of many things, but only after bugging myself for a few minutes or so. Yes, letting go helps most of the time, within reason.
And I remember that case. That is something I can't wrap my mind around, though. That man must have been a saint.
I, too, am very reluctant to ask for help. My sons, especially the younger one, are always ready to help, but I don't ask them unless they ask me if I need this or that to be taken care of.
I hope your daughter heals and feels a lot better so you won't have to worry so much. I can see how difficult it is to be a parent especially in your case. Hang in there!
Congratulations on making it to the last day of the competition! What was your favorite prompt from the last month? What was the most rewarding aspect of participating in the competition?
I liked the smells of childhood prompt. The sense of smell, has always been important to me, memories flood back from certain smells. When I smell freshly cut grass I’m transported to hay making time. Walking through fields of drying grass when I was about ten years old. My mother’s perfume of course reminds me of being close to her. Farm animals, pigs especially, even though not actually pleasant, take me back to the past immediately. So many smells, so many memories.
The reward for taking part in 30DBC is as always connecting to the other participants.
Thank you so much, one and all. Hope to see you in July?
