| PROMPT July 7th We've all had them, good and bad. Write about the best boss you’ve ever had. Funnily enough I’ve never had a boss other than family. When I left school I worked in our family store. So I guess my boss was my mother. She was ok as a boss, but as we lived over the shop there was no time off. EVER. Then I left to work for my father-in-law to be. He was a bookmaker (horse racing, not books) and I used to call the horse races to his five betting shops. (Father in law loved me, so he was an okay boss but a real mean with his money guy) you know “you’re family so don’t ask for more money.” Years later my husband opened a second hand bookstore. I worked there for thirty five years in between being a mother etc. So I suppose my husband was my boss at work. (No wage packet there either!) Now I’m my own boss but still cleaning, cooking etc. but when I feel like it. Still no pay😩 |
