The simplicity of my day to day. |
This is where I write my thoughts, feelings and my daily trials, tribulations and happy things

Okay I’d better start practicing for the 30 day blogging challenge. It’s due to start tomorrow. New Year’s Day 2020! It’s hard to believe I’m still kicking on after 2019, annus horribilus as the Queen herself is heard to say. If it’s good enough for Queenie it’s good enough for me. Health wise not a good year. A bout with breast cancer and an autoimmune disease called PMR, not something I’d wish on anyone. But tomorrow is a New Year, I’ve decided I’m going to write every single day, even if it’s only in this blog. I’ve signed up for I write in 2020 as well so putting the pressure on. The fires here in Australia are ridiculous, never known a fire season like this. Lives and homes lost, tragedy on the news nightly. We’re even having fireworks in Sydney and Perth as the fires rage. Can this be right? Surely not, it makes no sense. Our Prime Minister is a climate change sceptic, in denial. He has at least paid homage to the volunteer firefighters and making a payment to cover lost wages as they leave their businesses and jobs to save other people’s properties. So to everyone here on Writing.Com I wish you all a very happy, healthy New Year. Thank you for just being you. |

Well it’s been a while since I updated my blog and for the last month I’ve been dealing with my various ailments. The newest of which is called Polymyalgia Rheumatica or PMR. I was just about at the stage where I thought I had a life threatening condition hardly able to keep awake or so much body pain I could barely crawl. The specialist confirmed the diagnosis and started me on steroids. It’s been an amazing turn around, I’m feeling almost as good as new! All I need to do is taper very very slowly of the meds until my adrenal glands can start to take over once more. The radiation for the breast cancer is proceeding well only ten more to go. I’ve been able to do some reviews again now my brain is functioning and write a few stories and contests. The weather here in Western Australia is horrible today forty degrees centigrade. Too hot! Christmas bearing down on us fast but I’m on top of present buying. Will be spending Christmas Day with our daughters. Morning at the rehab centre and the afternoon at our eldest daughter’s open house. Should be an easy Christmas as regards cooking etc this year. Which is good as I’m still not up to entertaining. Looking forward to a better year in 2020. |
