Grab yourself a coffee, tea, beer, or whatever your favorite beverage is and join me on my blogging journey.

As of yet, I have no real theme; I'll write about whatever inspires me or pisses me off.

Do comment. I love a good conversation and I look forward to making some new friends along the way.

Learning is never a waste
October 28, 2019 at 6:54am
None of my siblings finished high school. For some reason I still don't fathom, I never once entertained the idea that I wouldn't finish high school. I was also the first and only one to go on to get a degree. I loved school. I liked hanging around with my friends. I enjoyed the classes, especially English classes. I enjoyed writing and, yes, even grammar. I would have liked history more if the teachers had made things a little more interesting. Some people are highly intelligent, b... [Read more]
Addictions
October 21, 2019 at 9:04am
Everyone’s addicted to something in some shape or form. What are things you can’t go without? I like to drink alcohol, but I'm not addicted to it. A few glasses of wine, a beer, or some special cocktail are plenty to keep me happy (so to speak). I take a couple of prescription pills, but I hate taking them. I'm convinced that I should be able to go off them if I look after myself properly. I must have some kind of addiction to food because I'm a little overweight and the old... [Read more]
Washday fun!
October 17, 2019 at 11:12am
Remember the other day I told you about the Harmony Workshop in the blog entry ? We also attended a Washboard Workshop where we attempted to play an authentic washboard. I was rather intimidated at first looking at all the people who came to play. The band members of a 1920's ragtime band, brought a selection of washboards made in the 1930s and 1940s. Some were glass boards, some tin, some brass, and some wood. We were all outfitted with "finger picks:" thimbles, one-half to three-... [Read more]
The spirit of music
October 14, 2019 at 6:34pm
Oh my! Where does the time go. I just noticed that it's been 12 days since my last entry. I've been planning to write the following entry for a while now, so here goes! A couple weeks ago a friend and I attended a local music festival. One of the events we participated in was a Harmony Workshop. About fifty other people also attended. The workshop was led by four students from the university’s Music Therapy program. Two were graduates; two are still enrolled in the ... [Read more]
Parking lot oops!
October 24, 2019 at 10:46am
Today when I was at a local store, just leaving my vehicle to go inside, a lady drove up the parking lot, turned into a space and I heard "clunk." Oh shoot! Yep, there was a 3-4 inch ding and a big scratch in the front corner of someone's car who had parked earlier. She drove through into the second space, saw people standing around and drove away. They yelled at her to stop. Someone got her licence plate number and they phoned it in. When I came out of the store about 15 m... [Read more]
