I've been studying my cover photo for a while now, and it seems to me that it is more than just a photo of what is there that can be seen, more than just three white rocks stacked on a beach. It contains an important question about the future, about what happens long after the photographer has gone. What will happen to our pile of stones when the tide comes in? Will it topple or has the architect built this structure at a safe distance?
I don't know what will happen to these words that I stack here on the sand. They may prove safely distant, or they may be swallowed up by a rush of self-doubt. They may be here for a season. They may lose their balance and be scattered by the shoreline, or be hidden away under shifting sands. Perhaps someday, the tides of life will reclaim them.
Or maybe that's just a bunch of poetic, romantic nonsense. After all, this is just a blog.
Yes. What happened to agree to disagree? We do not need to over react. We have our beliefs for a reason. Good or bad they belong to us. That said, I cannot believe the crap that is spewed via the internet, or the people who take it as the truth.
I would never block a friend for having a different opinion either. But neither will I debate. I'm a terrible arguer, except with my hubby. ๐ My sister loves our current president. Even though I think she's crazy, I keep my mouth shut and change the subject. Like you, I like facts, but I'm just not good at debating. Besides that, I don't think it would matter to her. It's not worth damaging our relationship.
We dream of wormholes and warped space because, in our deepest thoughts, we know full well that reaching any potentially habitable planet is just not possible. The distances are too great. Even Mars is beyond colonisation without constant and hugely expensive resupply of essentials from Earth. But we'll keep trying (and dreaming) because we have never allowed common sense to stand in our way.
Amethyst Angel ๐ผ I agree, somewhat. I can see exploring the possibilities of finding rare minerals or something useful for us, or even exploring the defensive capabilities, but I don't think Man is going to live anywhere but Earth. We know that any hospitable planet is too far away to reach in a human lifespan and that space flight makes normal human development impossible so we can't have babies in space. So, limited exploration but not manned outposts on Mars.
I am using a different computer setup this morning that is not my own. I donโt have ear buds that are synced to this computer, therefore, I cannot watch and listen to youtube videos to distract me from actual writing. This is hell.
