For me, it's always been knowing what is real, and what isn't. That old song, 'Everything Is Beautiful' springs to mind. If you believe everything you read or see on Facebook, you're really in trouble. The same goes for any Social Media site. A lot of people on those sites only want to create hate and discontent. The spreading of lies is their main goal it seems. I choose to ignore that and focus only on the beautiful things in life. The things we cherished as children. Dang I sound old!

Yes, definitely! It is something I try to focus on, especially if I feel the weight of all of the negativity. Cat groups on FB help. Seeing people doing good things help too. So I try to focus on those things.

I have done stuff like that a few times! The same with seeing stuff on Facebook ads. I just hate that not all of them have their own websites or places off Amazon. It's just so frustrating, because I'd rather go to somewhere nearby and buy stuff, especially when it comes to things like wall mirrors.

Also, I still have my iPod Nano! I had to look it up because I constantly forget which one I have (3rd gen). I don't use it as much as I used to, especially since 2017 since the 2 cars I've had since I can connect my phone to my car so I've done that instead of using my iPod. I know someone else who still uses their iPod and that makes me happy!

Nice entry here with some nice thoughts.
I think, in some ways, we the people are very beautiful; then, in some other ways, we're also very ugly. Life may be a farce or not, but if we stick to the beautiful, we can make it, at least, a beautiful experience.

With regards to dealing with Amazon, I have seen some posts on social media suggesting that if you can find the seller of specific items you might want it's worth digging around to see if you can order directly from them. I might look into that for iPod NaNo cables (because yes, I still have a NaNo; I just moved onto my backup one after my 16 year old original finally died this week).

My dad was career Air Force and we moved around a lot. I spent the 3rd grade in Mississippi, Maine and Michigan. We weren't in a house long enough to really make it a home. The dad's last assignment took us to Maine for good.

Finally, we moved into a place where I'd live from 7th grade through college. The huge three-story New England home was large enough for the four kids to make our bedrooms our own ... even through college. Mom was finally able to decorate as she wished.

Then, after the last child left the roost, my folks moved to a larger city. The dealership on the corner bought the house and tore it down for a parking lot.

I agree on the kitchen! I fell in love with ours when we looked at it. They had done a recent remodel of the kitchen and while it isn't a huge kitchen, it's very spacious, with lots of cabinets and counter space. And especially coming from a small galley kitchen, it was so lovely to cook Thanksgiving dinner with my fiance last year and not be stepping on each other.

I like your idea of a cozy home. We recently had our kitchen remodeled. In doing so, she chose to have one wall painted a light shade of green. The other walls are white, with one small section gray next to the green. But, couple that with the Splashback she chose, and voila! A nice cozy kitchen. That's the heart of the house if you ask me (I know you didn't ask. In our house though, the kitchen is it's heart.

Cousins

Do you have cousins and how much do you like them?

I do have cousins, a lot actually. I'm not familiar with my cousins from my dad's side of the family, but I am with my mom's side. I went and saw a few of them (and their families) when I went back home last week. I'm not as close as my older sister is with my older cousins. That's mostly because our families got together a lot more when they were kids than when I was a kid. Even with me living in Indiana rather than NY, also with thanks to Facebook (the only reason I still have it at this point), I'm able to stay in contact with them and see their kids grow up and what they're doing with their homes, their vacations, parties, etc. I'm pretty close with my mom's side of the family, so I always love getting together with them whether it's me going back home (like last week), or a couple of my cousins have driven through Indiana (having gone somewhere else) on their way back home and we'll get together and have breakfast or whatever. They have a friend who lives somewhat close by to me, so they will stay there for the night on their way back to NY.
